The inception of the Computer Engineering Department in 2009 marked a pivotal moment in addressing the growing demand for skilled engineers in the realm of computing. Presently, our department offers an undergraduate program in Computer Engineering with an intake capacity of 180 students. Additionally, we have introduced a postgraduate course in Computer Engineering with two specializations which are Computer Engineering & Computer Networks to further cater to the diverse interests and aspirations of our students.

The inception of the Computer Engineering Department in 2009 marked a pivotal moment in addressing the growing demand for skilled engineers in the realm of computing. Presently, our department offers an undergraduate program in Computer Engineering with an intake capacity of 180 students. Additionally, we have introduced a postgraduate course in Computer Engineering with two specializations which are Computer Engineering & Computer Networks to further cater to the diverse interests and aspirations of our students. Our overarching goal is to cultivate a cohort of adept Computer Engineers imbued with a strong sense of professionalism and ethical commitment. To realize this vision, we have assembled a team of proficient, dedicated, and deeply motivated faculty members who are committed to nurturing the next generation of technological innovators. Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories boasting the latest computers and software, we maintain a student-to-computer ratio of 1:1, ensuring unfettered access to resources for our students. Moreover, our laboratories are equipped with 24/7 internet connectivity, facilitating uninterrupted access to assignments and projects. In addition to conventional classroom instruction, we place a significant emphasis on holistic development through specialized soft skills training programs. These initiatives, including personality development workshops, communication skills enhancement sessions, group discussions, and debates, are integral to honing our students' abilities and enhancing their employability prospects. It's a continuous process aimed at empowering our students with the necessary skills to thrive in today's competitive job market. Notably, the department boasts a commendable track record of academic excellence, with consistently outstanding results. Furthermore, our faculty members are actively engaged in cutting-edge research across a diverse array of fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain Technology, Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, Networking, Embedded Systems, Wireless Communication, Image Processing, and Wireless Sensor Networks. We encourage our students to leverage the resources and opportunities available within the department to deepen their understanding and excel in their chosen domains. To lead the field in computer engineering education and to develop students into globally qualified professionals with mastery of software development, a talent for research, and a commitment to moral principles.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

  • PO1 – Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2 – Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO3 – Design / Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4 – Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5 – Modern Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO6 – The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO7 – Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PO8 – Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PO9 – Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • PO10 – Communication Skills: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PO11 – Project Management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO12 – Life-long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
