The Department of Engineering Science started in the year 2009 is well equipped for teaching the basic principles of Applied Science. It offers good practical training in Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Engineering Mathematics and some basic engineering subjects like Engineering Mechanics, Systems in Mechanical Engineering, Basic Electrical Engineering, Basic Electronics Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Environmental studies, Project Based learning, Programming and Problem Solving to meet the academic requirements of engineering course. The Department has a very strong commitment to feed the budding engineers with updated knowledge. It provides an environment conducive for developing the skills of the students. The staff members are very enthusiastic, dynamic and committed towards all the activities of the department plans.
The Engineering Science Department is intended to instill a solid foundation of fundamental concepts of various disciplines in the mind of the learners, so that they proceed to rest of their years of study with up to date knowledge and training of basic engineering skills. Along with our highly qualified faculty, we have well established laboratories that not only cover the curriculum but also inspire students to learn beyond it, thereby developing their theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject and equipping them with the skills necessary to become successful engineers in the future.

The Physics lab enable students to experimentally verify fundamental principles of physics relevant to engineering. Develop data analysis, error calculation, graph plotting, and lab report writing skills. Strengthen understanding of applied physics in domains like optics, electronics, semiconductors, electromagnetism, and materials science.
The chemistry lab provides students with hands-on experience in experimental chemistry, enabling them to understand theoretical concepts through practical application. Develop laboratory skills and safety awareness and conduct basic and advanced chemical experiments. The lab is well equipped with all the chemicals and glassware as per the norms of the Savitribai Phule Pune University. All the instruments are not only useful for the regular practical’s but also for research work.
A computer lab is a dedicated space equipped with multiple computers and related technologies, software and smart board, designed to facilitate learning, research, and digital skill development. Computer labs are equipped with desktop computers that often include specialized software for programming, graphic design etc. All labs offer internet access, enabling students to conduct research, access online resources, and utilize cloud-based applications.
Basic Electrical Engineering lab provides hands-on experience with electrical circuits and components. Familiarize students with basic electrical instruments and reinforce theoretical electrical engineering concepts through experiments. Build skills in circuit analysis, power measurement, and electrical machine basics.
The main objectives of Basic Electronics Engineering lab are, Introduce the fundamental principles of electronic components and circuits. Develop students' practical skills in handling electronic instruments and reinforce theoretical concepts through hands-on experimentation. Familiarize students with analog and digital circuit behaviour.
