Department Objectives

The educational objectives of Mechanical Engineering Department are to produce competent Engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of Mechanical Engineering causes and to accommodate the needs of the community. These objectives are as follows:

    1. To Apply their mechanical engineering education to address the full range of technical and societal problems with creativity, imagination, confidence and responsibility.
    2.To seek out positions of leadership within their profession and their community.
    3.To engage students in efforts beyond syllabus in engineering study & other fields such as science, law, medicine, business or public policy.
    4.To Serve as ambassadors for engineering by exhibiting the highest ethical and professional standards, and by communicating the importance and excitement of this dynamic field.
    5.To Retain the intellectual curiosity that motivates lifelong learning and allows for a flexible response to the rapidly evolving challenges of the 21st century.

    Department Outcomes

    After completion of mechanical engineering students will be able to:

      1. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
      2.Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
      3.Identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
      4.Design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
      5. Recognize of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
